Broomall, PA – It’s obvious that the parishioners at St. Luke Greek Orthodox church love their church. Strolling around the church grounds this weekend at their annual “Greek Festival” you saw young and old alike with smiling faces.

From the entrance on Malin road as we entered, waving gestures of welcome from afar and hugs when we got close were a constant. The scent of Greek food and the visual backdrop of members wearing T-shirts (The Greek Affair), along with children running around in traditional folk attire, all added to warmth to this 36-year tradition.

The 5-day event brought together this remarkable group of volunteers and its community for a celebration of Hellenism. The event was highlighted by a traditional Macedonian Wedding which was performed by the St. Luke’s youth group the “Olympians”.
