Chester, PA – It was a perfect start at PPL Stadium on Saturday. The Union beat New England 1-0 in their home opener and captured their first victory of the season. The 31st minute goal was all they needed along with a lot of definitive pressure through the match.

In the Colonial Marble club box, smiling faces of family members and friends cheered and shouted out in Greek. Decked out in team colors, from toddlers to seniors, the Greeks were predicting a great season. “Were going all the way this year”, could be heard from the front of the box, while others said, they were just happy to be there amongst their fellow Hellenes.

Many of Greek attendees mention the big match scheduled to take place on June 3rd 2014. The Greek national team is scheduled to take on the Nigerian national team in a friendly match before the kickoff of the World Cup. This will be the first ever visit of the Greek National team to the Philadelphia area.

Next week, the Union will have an Eastern Conference match with the Columbus Crew, before returning closing out the month at PPL Park, where they will host the Montreal Impact.
