Upper Darby, PA – Awards and certificates were handed out to St. Demetrios youth today. The day started out with Mike Economou taking time out during church service to say thanks to Michael Karloutsos, one of the members of the church who was instrumental in St. Demetrios’ expansion. Anastasia Karloutsos and their children accepted the award on behalf of her husband. The expansion of the church parking lot, a long time issue for the parish was a key issue that involved the city of Philadelphia, Upper Darby and the church. Poems and jokes were recited by the students that were followed by certificates being awarded for finishing out the year and those that had accomplished excellence in their respective classes.
