Media, PA – The Hellenic Academy Aristotle opened it’s doors this past Monday. 120 students and 14 teachers came together for the first day at St. George Greek Orthodox church. A chiming bell rang by Director Elias Pantelides signaled the start of classes. The pre-k through 8 program holds classes twice a week for the Greek community, teaching, language, history, religion and dance.
Following a brief agiasmos hosted at in the church next door, the students broke off into their classrooms where they spent the next two hours. Parents sat in the large hall and waited for the first days conclusion which say smiling faces and hugs exchanged outside of the classrooms. The 2014-2015 school year was back in session.
