Washington Twp, NJ – The Dream Team of Dimitri Iliadis came together this past Sunday morning. More than 30 friends and family members of Dimitri Iliadis got together and marched on a one mile “Buddy Team Walk”, which is sponsored by BUDS (Bringing Up Down Syndrome). BUDS is a south New Jersey non-profit organization whose purpose is to help families of children with Down Syndrome by offering a variety of programs and services.
Dimitri Iliadis was baptised at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church in Upper Darby, and is named after that patron Saint. Parents Fotini and Yianni Iliadis, are members of the St. Thomas Greek Orthodox community and have now participated for the second year in a row in the annual Buddy Walk.
BUDS, has over 300 families in their organization covering Burlington, Gloucester, and Camden Counties. Their goal is to educate families on how to help their children be self-advocates, while showing the community that all individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities can be valuable, contributing members of society.
