Philadelphia, PA – Parishioners of Evangelismos Greek Orthodox church gathered to watch as their Greek school celebrated Oxi Day. The performance featured children from the Greek school classes reciting poems and singing songs about the historic day, October 28th, 1940. Blue and white flags waved as beaming faces looked on with pride. From Kindergarten through 7th grade, they recited poems and sang in Greek. Fr. Alexandros credited the parents and teachers for their effort to help preserve the historic day.
