Upper Darby, PA – The Pontian Akritai of Philadelphia are hosting their annual Thanksgiving weekend dance this November 28th, 2015. The annual dance now in its 76th year is the oldest Pontian dance hosted in North America and is arguably the largest of the year.
On Friday evening a traditional “Mouhapet” will be hosted at the Pontian “Leski” on Market st. in Upper Darby, just down the street from St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church will the dance will be hosted. Straight from Greece, singers Stathis Pavlidis and Giannis Gavrilidis will be bringing the songs of Pontos alive. Dimitris Xenitopoulos will be on Lyra along with Christos Tiktapanidis.
Stoxos entertainment will be playing popular Greek music.
