Nicholas G. Pappas (Nikolaos G. Papadopoulos) was born in Patras, Greece on June 15, 1928, and lived through World War II and then the Civil War before he would go on to join the Merchant Marines where he would finally take a trip to Baltimore, MA and stay in the US for good. He met the love of his life, Tula in Charlotte, NC where they were married and started working in his brother’s restaurant. He was the owner of the Dynasty Diner in Delran, NJ.
Nicholas was a devoted member of the St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, a fifty-year member of AHEPA Chapter 69, a real Hellene, who constantly acknowledged the importance of respecting the Greek American culture and traditions. He is survived by his son George and his wife Rania, his three grandchildren, Nicholas and Tula-Maria and his granddaughter Angela-Nicole Pappas.
A public viewing will be held Friday 7-9 pm and Saturday 10-11 am at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer St., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002, where the funeral services will be celebrated at 11.00 am. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the St. Thomas 50-year Renovation Fund, at the church’s address.
