Deptford, NJ – Greek Nights at Adelphia continued this past Sunday with Stoxos Entertainment putting on a show. The regional Greek band featured artist Efi Thodi who’s been on tour in the northeast. Her tour brought her to the Philadelphia community where she got the crowd out on the dance floor. With her traditional laika songs she’s known for, she captivated the audience all night.
Cheers welcomed the famed singer as she walked onto the dance floor, while camera phones snapped up historic memories. “Music is my lifeline that inspires my life and motivates the Greek in his daily life. It is at the center of our psyche”, said Thodi.
The veteran singer is known for playing large and small venues all over Greece and especially at village festivals, where her traditional folk sound connects to. Her 25 year career span continues and she has just prepared a new cd to release this summer.
Singer Spiros Roumeliotis of Thessaloniki Greece also on tour with Thodi opened the evening with a powerful series of Greek laiki as well. With an energetic style, he circulated through the crowd hugging and sharing the microphone. With a big smile, he got the guests warmed up for Thodi.
The Stoxos band performed Greek music from across the spectrum, from Laika, paradosiaka, and everything in between for crowd which kept coming in late in to the night. The dance floor brought out young and old alike proving that the generational appeal of the band and Thodi continues.
