Upper Darby, PA – The Pontian Akritai community of Philadelphia is hosting one of the biggest dances of the year and it promises to be extra special. Celebrating it’s 75th year as a syllogo, it is North America’s oldest Black Sea organization.
Every year on Thanksgiving weekend, St. Demetrios’ church hall is filled beyond capacity on Saturday night. From all over the tri-state area and some from as far away Canada, Chicago, New York and Boston come to share the evening. This year, the Akritai have lined up a series of performers from Greece that will perform and create a historic evening no one should miss.
Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate the milestone of 75 years. This night will be filled with delicious food, entertainment, music and dance group performances.
