Wilmington, DE – Archbishop Elpidophoros conducted liturgy services yesterday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. His Eminence blessed each child, gave them a small boxed gift, and proclaimed Axia or Axios for each boy or girl.
In his speech, he praised the youth of the church and wished the congregation continued success. His Eminence boasted that Holy Trinity is a progressive church and key leader of Greek Orthodoxy. Many dignitaries from around the community also attended the service, including AHEPA Supreme President George Horiatis, President & Chief Executive Officer Nick Larigakis of AHI, and officers from the National Philoptochos office, and many Archons for the first time visit.
Following a brief photo op of the many church and national organization leaders, a brief luncheon was served to all the guests in the church hall. Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is known for its annual Greek festival, the largest in the Delaware Valley. Approximately 500 families make up the parish that continues to grow. It is the only Greek Orthodox Church in Delaware.
