Foodservice distributor Cedar Farms Co., Inc. has a long and well-respected relationship with the Philadelphia community. They are also known for their historic leadership and philanthropy led by the entrepreneur and Greek-American, Gus Pahides.
Gus was a member of the parish council of his beloved St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral where he served as president and vice president along with being an active member of many other Hellenic organizations.
Gus Pahides started his own distribution company during the 1940’s. His business grew steadily until he was called to serve our country during the Korean conflict. Upon his return, he started over and built his businessonce again. In 1970, Gus purchased Cedar Farms from Bob Raur and Stanley Bonner and set the foundation for the business in operation today.
In 1977, Gus’ son Pete Pahides, took over the reigns and continues the philanthropic and business traditions his father set forth then.
Cosmos Philly welcomes its new partner and sponsor as they continue their endeavors to promote and preserve Greek culture.
