Aglaia Efstathiadis “Gloria” passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2015. She was a woman of unquestionable generosity and kindness. She came to this country in her mid thirties and worked hard to establish her own business. She will be forever known as holding court at her dress makers shop with all her neighborhood friends.
Athanasios Efstathiadis “Tom” passed away only 24 hours after his beloved wife Gloria on June 16, 2015. He came to the United States in 1969. After working in a few different clothing factories he started his own tailor shop eventually combining his business with his wife’s business on 10th Street. Survived by their children Evangelia and Pete, grandson Yiannis and siblings Andonia, Pandelis, and Eleni. Also survived by nieces Penny and Kathy here in Philadelphia and many more nieces and nephews in Greece, Australia, and the rest of the world.
The couple’s funeral will be 11 am Friday at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. George 256 S. 8th St. Philadelphia. Viewing one hour prior to service in the church. Interment, Fernwood Cemetery.
