Philadelphia, PA — For one night, the heart of Philadelphia will beat to the rhythm of Greek heritage as dignitaries, community leaders, and guests gather for the Eleftheria Gala, the city’s premier black-tie event honoring Greek Independence Day. Hosted by the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley, this elegant celebration will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel.
More than just a glamorous evening, the Eleftheria Gala is a tribute to Greek culture, history, and unity. It also serves as a major fundraiser supporting the Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade, an annual tradition that brings the community together in celebration of freedom and heritage.
An Evening of Tradition and Celebration
The night begins at 5:00 PM with a cocktail hour and auction, offering guests a chance to connect and bid on exclusive items while supporting an important cause.
At 6:00 PM, attendees will enter the Liberty Ballroom for a formal dinner, featuring:
- Welcome remarks and introduction of the dais
- Presentation of Greece’s Presidential Guard (Evzones), a symbol of national pride
- Recognition of the 2025 Parade Grand Marshal
- Presentation of the prestigious Eleftheria Medal, awarded for outstanding contributions to the Hellenic community
At 7:00 PM, young professionals and emerging leaders will have the opportunity to network during a Young Adult Cocktail Hour, fostering connections within the next generation of Greek-American community members.
At 8:30 PM, the evening’s energy will reach new heights with an exclusive live performance featuring the legendary Atlantis of Philadelphia and acclaimed Greek-American artist KALOMIRA, promising a night of music, culture, and celebration.
