Experience the drama, joy, and passion of Greek theater at the Phenomenal Animals’ presentation of Euripides’ The Bacchae.

The cult of Dionysus, a frenzied group of women on the fringes of Greek society, spend their days dancing, drinking, and challenging the powers that be. So when Pentheus, King of Thebes, refuses to acknowledge their leader as a god they wreak havoc on the city. In an act of revenge the cult, known as the Bacchae, invokes the god and a crazed ritual of blood, sex, and revelry ensues. The Bacchae invite you to participate in their rite. See, touch, feel the action. This is your initiation.
