By and large, the Hellenic American community has prospered over its existence in the greater Philadelphia area. However, for some families in our community, the tumultuous economy and / or unexpected losses of family members have caused enormous financial hardship.
Thankfully, many of the organizations of our community provide assistance to families in need. One organization, the Pan-Macedonian Association of Philadelphia, has spearheaded a program where anonymous donors provide help for recipients identified by parish Philoptochos chapters or priests. If you or a loved one is in need of assistance, please reach out to your parish’s Philoptochos chapter or priest.
Additional, one can reach out directly to the Pan-Macedonian Association Pavlos Melas chapter President, Lee Christoforidis, or program coordinator Nick Yiantsos to request assistance or do donate to this anonymous program.
Currently there is one donor who provides $5,000 annually. Additional donors, both large and small would go far in promoting the mission which so perfectly embodies a philanthropic spirit.
