Wilmington, DE – For 5 days the parishioners of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church take you on a trip to the Old Country where you can close your eyes and imagine yourself in a Greek village where locals are celebrating an annual event. Join us as you experience the aromas of authentic food cooking before your eyes, the sounds of ethnic music and the sights of our own Greek Terpsechorian Youth Folk dance group. There will be plenty of “Kefi”, a presence of joy and high spirits for you, your family, friends, and co-workers to enjoy while attending our annual Greek Festival. It runs from Tuesday, June 6 – Saturday, June 10 from 11 am – 11 pm. Admission is Free and is a rain or shine event.
Homemade traditional comfort food like pastitsio, moussaka, dolmades and spanakopita are served at the Hellenic Community Center daily from 11 am – 9:30 pm. Items such as Gyro, Souvlaki, and Calamari are prepared outside daily from 5 pm – 11 pm where you can grab a table and enjoy your meal while listening to Philadelphia’s Atlantis, a regional renown orchestra, playing live Greek music nightly for their 31st year!
George Tsavalas, a member of the organizing committee, states “The Greek Festival is an annual event in which we, the Greek American community celebrate and preserve our heritage while sharing our Greek culture with our local and extended community.
