A dedicated parishioner and member of the Philadelphia Greek Orthodox community, Ilias Dros passed away at 52 this week on August 11th 2015. Elias was born and raised in Plaka, Athens Greece and later moved to the United States where he settled in the Philadelphia suburbs.
Ilias was well known for his dedication and help with Father Nektarios Cottros of Philadelphia, who called upon him with Orthodox duties both in the church and around the metropolitan community. A member of St. Demetrios in Upper Darby and St. George Cathedral in Philadelphia, he loved being part of both communities where he spent much of his time.
Ilias was also a member of the Epirotes Society of Philadelphia where he participated in many annual dances. He was often seen with a big smile and greeted all with open arms. He leaves behind his wife Paschalia, many friends and relatives. To all that know him, he will be missed.
His viewing is this Friday (August 14th) at 10:00 am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Upper Darby followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am.
