Julia Mavromates of Wildwood Crest passed away on April 22nd of heart disease, at the age of 90.
Julia was the beloved widow of Thomas Mavromates, as they were happily married for 60 years. Born in Philadelphia, Julia was an accomplished waitress whose career spanned 64 years as she worked from the age of 18 to 82. Friends and family will remember her for her spectacular Italian and Greek meals and her welcoming personality and quick wit.
Julia is survived by her sister Etta McCullough, son Michael (Carol) Mavromates, grandchildren Christopher (Melody) Mavromates, great grandchild Ava Mavromates, niece Alison McCullough-Boyle, and many more extended family members. Julia joins her son in heaven Gregory Mavromates, sister Bernice Jans, and brother Philip Pellicciotti. The family would like to thank Evelyn DeFazio whose loving friendship and care was greatly appreciated.
Services will be held on Friday, April 28th at Vraim Funeral Home at 66 S. State Road, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Open casket viewing between 12:00 – 2:00 pm with a short service to follow.
