Kiriaki (Koulla) Heraclides fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, December 5, 2016.
Koulla is survived by her daughter, Georgia Fatseas, son-in-law, Dr. Charles Fatseas, her grandchildren Jacqueline and Cary Fatseas and her nephew Stephen Oratis and family.
She is predeceased by parents George and Stella Stylianou/Oratis, brother, James Oratis and her beloved husband of 49 years, Metros Heraclides.
Koulla was born October 23, 1916, on the island of Cyprus. She came to the U.S. in 1950 and married in 1951. She worked in the family business of managing the Hub Restaurant, Schmidt’s Brewing Company Executive Cafeteria and Burks Meat Cafeteria with her brother. Later she worked as a finisher in the designer room of Alfred Angelo/Piccione Bridal Manufacturing.
She was a nurturing person to all who remember her and was an individual who believed deeply in her faith, reading scripture daily. Koulla lived independently well into her 90’s in Huntingdon Valley, PA until moving to be near her daughter in Nashville, TN where she lived to be 100 years old and in excellent health. Although there was some memory loss, she was still mobile, vibrant and charming to all around.
A private funeral was held on December 10, at Annunciation/Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church in Elkins Park with celebrant Father John L. Johns.
Charitable donations may be offered to Annunciation/Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, 7921 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027.
