Nicholas Epitropou passed away on December 3, 2018, at the age of 85. Nick was born on March 18, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA to James and Katina (Fournarake) Epitropou. He grew up in Philadelphia, and a big part of his upbringing was in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
He attended Central High School and received a degree in civil engineering in 1955. He also served in the United States Army.
During his years as an engineer in PA, he worked for the PA Railroad, Franklin Institute Labs, and General Electric. He then moved to Florida where he continued his engineering with Martin Marietta, the Naval Air Division Center, and Harris Corp.
Nick had a passion for ballroom dancing, painting and sketching and traveling. He combined two of his hobbies in one when he worked as a dance escort on the Royal Cruise Line for several years. He also enjoyed attending ballroom dances with his friends for many years up until about a year ago.
Nick is predeceased by his parents James and Katina, and brother, John Epitropou. He is survived by his niece, Joanne (Epitropou) Ufer, her husband, Kurt Ufer, and his great-niece and nephew, Katerina and John Ufer.
