Elkins Park, PA – They came in out of the cold for a fun evening of wonderful Greek food and dancing this past Saturday night. Annunciation Greek Orthodox church hosted it’s first OPA winter Food festival for the community.
The Opa Greek band played all weekend to a full hall and the GOYA dancers performed for families and guests. Fresh Greek cuisine was being prepped as we walked in the kitchen while a bottle of Ouzo poured drinks in to the workers hands. Happy, smiling parishioners toasted the evening as they worked for their church.
The 3 day affair held traditionally held in June, but this year, Annunciation changed it up by added a winter date. When asked why, members said, why not? Nobody else is doing it in the dead of winter, so we decided to take on the challenge.
