Haddonfield, NJ – On Saturday, November 14th, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby, the St. Nicholas Concert Fundraiser will take place. The event is being hosted to raise funds for the rebuilding of St. Nicholas in New York. Along with the World Trade Center, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church which once stood beside the famed towers, was lost on September 11, 2001. Thousands of lives were lost on that fateful day, along with the Greek communities own Danielle Kousoulis.
Danielle Kousoulis grew up in Haddon twp. and was a member of the St. Thomas Greek Orthodox church and their GOYA. The community center has since been renamed in honor of Danielle where she attended. In this video, her brother Peter speaks about the significance of the day and the importance of this fundraiser to the Greek-American community of Philadelphia.
The fundraiser will feature singers Angelos Dionysiou and Kalomira who will headline the event and be accompanied by Atlantis of Philadelphia. All proceeds from the St. Nicholas concert fundraiser, will go to the Holy Metropolis of New Jersey St. Nicholas Fund.
