Upper Darby, PA – “The Macedonian Youth of Alexander the Great” and the Pontian “Akritai” Youth of Philadelphia held an informal social affair this past week at the Pontian Leski in Upper Darby. Young people from the community came out and enjoyed a meal, mingled and danced the evening away.
President Effie Pavlidou Economou of the Pontian Akritai of Philadelphia spoke about how thrilled she was to host this first-time event. She also talked about the clubhouse history and its wonderful food. The Pontian Leski has become a hot spot eatery as of late. Located in the heart of the Greek community on Market Street in Upper Darby, just a couple blocks away from St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
Phillip Voutsakis, President of “The Macedonian Youth of Alexander the Great” association organized the event and spoke about sister organizations coming together.
