The Pontian Society “Akritai” of Philadelphia is hosting its annual Thanksgiving weekend dance at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. On Saturday, November 30, 2019, the area’s largest celebration will take place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary. The evening will also commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the Greek Pontian Genocide.

The program will feature Matthaios Tsahouridis from Greece. From the States, Christos Tiktapanidis on Lyra, Vasilis Tekeoglou on klarino, and Ioannis Apazidis playing daouli will join in. Greek Band members Athanasios Sotiriadis, Georgios Kortsinidis, and Konstantinos Patrikas will also be on stage.

Armenian Musicians Steve Vosbikian will be playing klarino, and Raffi Massoyan will be on outi. A special dance will be performed by the Akritai Society’s dance group.
