Philadelphia, PA – And the coin goes to Rina Karamanides. Her number came up during the annual first meeting of the Epirotes Society of Philadelphia “Omonia.” Karamanides received the coin following the Vasilopita cutting and meeting. The lucky coin is made of gold and is a Lira valued at $350. The Epirotes Society of Philadelphia “Omonia” hosts its annual first general assembly each year at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. This year, also the traditional Vasilopita cutting was performed by Father Ambrose.
On the agenda were the philanthropic projects and the upcoming Tsipourovradia, scheduled for February 10, 2018, at St. Demetrios in Upper Darby. The two projects are part of the annual works for the Philadelphia Epirotes.
