Philadelphia, PA – They came together as a community this past Saturday night and celebrated. The St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Philadelphia was a scene of smiling faces and confidence. If you stop by St. George’s Cathedral in Philadelphia, change is the first thing you notice. A new roof, exterior, floors, lights..etc… etc. are only part of what’s going on at St. George for the last 2 years. When you meet one of the parish members a sense of confidence and inspiration are evident.
On Saturday evening Father Christ of St. George, led the way at their annual St. George Cathedral dance. There were many reasons this community was celebrating, but none was more evident than their love of their church and community which they continue to embrace and promote as the home of the Greek-American community.
The food, service, and entertainment (ATLANTIS OF PHILADELPHIA) we’re all great as they celebrated the night away at their annual dance. For nearly a hundred years now, St. George continues to be a place where the Greek community comes together in Philadelphia. In just a few weeks, the rest of the city will experience their Christian fellowship, food, and love of both faith and culture at their annual Greek Festival.
It’s another reason to celebrate their history and share it with the rest of the community.
