Tom Gumas, age 92, beloved husband of Athina Gumas and father of Maria Klumpp and Spyro Gumas and grandfather of John and David Klumpp and Andrew, Alex, Justin and Mallory Gumas, died peacefully at his home on Sunday July 19th.

Born in Madison NJ in 1923, he spent 13 years in Greece during the depression and WWII. He served in the Greek Resistance during the War, and in the US Army as part of the Japanese occupying forces after his return to the US. After the war, he attended Drexel University and received a degree in Business Administration in 1950. He ran several successful businesses. He was a member of the Saint Luke Greek Orthodox Church for over 50 years and was active in the community.

He was a role model and inspiration to his children and grandchildren, but most of all he was a loving husband and best friend to his loving wife Athina. He, and his corny jokes, will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Viewing will be held at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church, Broomall, PA, on Saturday at 10:00 am, and service at 11:00 am, followed by burial at Fernwood Cemetery.
