Philadelphia, PA – The folks at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral really cherish their church and community. Last night at their annual bid and buy, they showed us all again why it’s a wonderful family.
Raffles, prizes, and drawings were all present, just like any other bid and buy. The golden covered tables even carried the theme to perfection. But what made it great, was the attentiveness to detail and timing. The food was fantastic again. A simple half chicken served with lemon potatoes was right on the money as they say. And the ladies with their young assistance handing out the prizes charmed us throughout the evening.
Each time a winner was yelled out, a sweet young lady would run over to make the delivery to a thrill seeking winner. And let’s not forget the fellas at St. George. Like a well-oiled machine, the food kept coming right on time, fresh and hot.
When we visit St. George Cathedral for their annual bid and buy, we know spring is in, and its parishioner’s hospitality only amplifies the warmth and excitement of our neighborhood church.
