September 19th, 2011. The annual Blessing of the Waters in Asbury Park New Jersey by Bishop Evangelos took place last weekend. Parrish members and families of the Greek Orthodox communities of New Jersey and Philadelphia looked on as teenagers dove into the Atlantic ocean in hopes of recovering the cross. The annual is followed by a picnic on the grounds next to the famed board Asbury Park boardwalk.
