Members and friends of the Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia gathered in center city on Saturday, February 7 for the 75th annual gala to benefit the club’s scholarship fund. The gala was held at the Sheraton Philadelphia Society Hill Hotel at Second and Walnut Streets.
This elegant evening began as guests were greeted by gala committee members and directed to the “Glam Red Carpet” for photos against a new HUC backdrop.
Enjoying delicious hot and cold butler-passed hors d’oeuvres, they met the gracious honoree, Diane Kochilas. Diane was pleased to personalize copies of her latest cookbook at the book-signing table. Guests browsed the silent auction tables and mingled with friends. More than a dozen fabulous silent auction prizes were bid on and won by the guests.
The evening continued with dinner and dancing, the presentation of the Achievement Award to Diane and her acceptance, and then more dancing. Master of Ceremonies, Peter Millili was better than Billy Crystal at the Oscars!
The dessert table included a special surprise for all to enjoy – Diane Kochilas’ Citrus Olive Oil Cake – prepared and generously donated by Mediterranean Catering.
