The Dream of a new church was realized this past Saturday morning in Norristown Pa. Thyranoixia (the opening of the church doors) took place. Metropolitan Evangelos conducted and led his flock from the tent to a ceremonial blessing in front of the church doors around 10:00 am.
The first Liturgy service followed the ribbon cutting ceremony that held back the excited crowed that gathered outside its doors. Some came holding candles, while others carried icons and smiles as they entered. Some two hours later, the parishioners retired to the historic hall for a lunch. This one time church would continue to serve the community, but now, it would be used specifically for social affairs.
