Annunciation of Elkins Park rolled past St. George of Media yesterday in a dominant performance that may preview an upcoming semifinal matchup in GOYA league playoff action.
Annunciation came out firing, jumping to a 14–0 lead within the first six minutes before St. George could get on the board. Speed, sharp shooting, and strong rebounding defined their game. They controlled the pace from start to finish and steadily built on their lead, ultimately dismantling St. George by a final score of 54–36.
As the regular season enters its final week, teams are beginning to see where they stand for the playoffs. In the Boys A Division, Annunciation of Elkins Park sits undefeated at the top of the standings. St. George of Media currently holds the fourth seed—likely setting up a rematch with the defending champions in the first round.
If that matchup happens, St. George will need to find a way to break through Annunciation’s all-around dominance—a challenge they’ve yet to solve.
