Egg Harbor Twp, NJ – Their passion for dance was obvious this past weekend at the Holy Trinity Greek Festival in Egg Harbor Township. Children and adults alike strutted their stuff to a packed campus, not once, not twice, but three times with groups ranging in ages from 5 to 55.

The Holy Trinity dance troupe is well known in these parts of South Jersey, and they gave the crowd a show that even got them up to join in. Dances were featured from all over Greece hourly. Guests clapped along and snapped their fingers and children sat mesmerized as they witnessed the leaps and kicks of dancers their own age.

In between the dancing, the lines grew at the food concessions for Greek pastries, souvlaki, and gyros. You could barely find a seat in the cafeteria style dining area, created under the Taverna tent. Platters of pastitsio, chicken, and orzo covered feta cheese were being consumed along with a cold beer or Greek wine. To say the food was excellent is an understatement here. “If it’s not good enough for me, I wouldn’t serve it to my neighbors. Everything is tops here in food quality”, said Yiannis Kyriakou Chairman of the Festival.

The festival closed as it opened with a fireworks display over the festival. The annual four-day affair unites the community and becomes a summer launching pad for Egg Harbor Twp.
