On Saturday at Adelphia Restaurant, the Demati Brotherhood gathered for their annual dance. The evening featured Greek singer Dimitris Kaloyirou, Clarinet player Makis Porodimos, and local musicians Lazaros Paraskevas and Yirgos Bezanis.
Kostas Angelis, President of the Demati Brotherhood, welcomed the guests and shared the common history of Demati. Demati is a Village in East Zagori in Ioannina in the Epirus Region of Greece, where many of the guests hailed from.
Throughout the evening, guests danced the night away to the traditional folk songs of their home and celebrated their presence here in the Delaware Valley where many of them immigrated to.
