Media, PA – The dinner bell rung loud on Friday at St. George Greek Orthodox church. Parishioners hustled to get the food to the hungry crowd that lined up to enjoy original Greek food.  The annual Greek food festival, A Taste of Greece gave you Greek food and atmosphere any way you want. The semi-formal dining facilities of the hall or the chatter, dancing and singing of the tent, were both packed with Greek food fans.

Loukoumades ruled the outdoor tent, while platters of moussaka and pastitsio dominated inside. A Greek style deli known as a periptero filled the corner of the tent, adding to the atmosphere of Greece. The 4 day festival is hosted annually and is celebrating its 41th year as an annual Greek festival – Delaware County’s oldest Greek festival.

Dancing performances were provided throughout the evening by 4 different dance troupes. St. Luke Greek Orthodox church from Broomall participated, and St. George sent in two of it’s groups. Senior and junior organizations ranging in ages from 5 to 18 performed folk dances under the tent for all to see.

The event lasts throughout the weekend and there’s still plenty of time to go and enjoy a wonderful meal.
