Orthodox Christians across the Delaware Valley were treated to great weather all weekend allowing for Easter services to take place outside.

Cosmos Philly visited St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church on Good Friday and at 1st Pascha on Saturday morning for a rare 1st time tradition was performed by Father Nectarios. On Saturday evening, we visited Evangelismos Of The Theotokos, Greek Orthodox Church on Bustleton Ave. in Philadelphia for a midnight mass that filled the church. There, Rev. Father Prokopios Nikas, Protopresbyter led his parishioners in both Greek and English, singing “Xristos Anesti” (Christ has risen”). Father Prokopios Nikas, concluded the outdoor portion of his service, yelling out “God Bless “America” and God Bless Greece”.
