Ekaterini Yiantsos, of Cheltenham, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Ekaterini was born in Ptolemaida, Greece, to her father, the late Ioannis Hlias, and her mother, Antigone (née Tzouvara) Hlias, with whom she is survived. She was 60 years old.

Katinaki was a star track athlete and an A student with a photographic memory in her school in Greece. She came to the United States as a bride at 17 and spent her whole life tirelessly and selflessly caring for her family, which grew to incredible heights. She watched all four of her children grow, accomplish their educational goals, find the loves of their lives, and witness the birth of her seven grandchildren.

Along with her mother, Ekaterini is survived by her husband, Ioannis Yiantsos, and her children: Agnoula Marcantonis (George), Kosmas Yiantsos (Arhodia), Ioanna Franchetti (Mark), Christos Yiantsos (Shilo), and her grandchildren: Eleni Marcantonis, Katerina Marcantonis, Christina Marcantonis, Lina Yiantsos, Ioannis Yiantsos, Sophia Franchetti, and Elias Yiantsos. Ekaterina is also survived by her brothers: Simeon Hlias (Maria) and Ahileas Hlias (Eftherpi).

Relatives and friends are invited to Ekaterina’s Celebration of Life on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., followed by her funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 7921 Old York Rd., Elkins Park, PA 19027. Interment will follow at Lawnview Cemetery.
