This week Giannis Antetokounmpo makes his Nike Greece ad debut in a new ‘Just Do It’ spot, highlighting athletes preparing for the Road to Rio and the 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. The video includes the abandoned beach volleyball venue and aquatic center from the Athens Olympic 2004 and is voiced over in Greek saying:
We will not be defined by circumstance.
We will not be undone by what is broken.
We are more than our surroundings.
We are the makers of our fate.
The spot finishes with a shirtless Giannis in a gym throwing down one of his powerful dunks and ends with the iconic ‘Just Do It’ tag. Following the spot, the athletes return encouraging viewers to visit Nike.com/Greece and help take the challenge to “run” from Greece to Brazil (all 9,647 kilometers). When that goal is achieved Nike will support the next generation of Greek athletes by donating sports equipment to primary schools in Greece.
