Upper Darby, PA – Less than a week before Christmas the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley gathered for their final meeting where a festive seen unfolded. It ended with the members uniting to sing a Greek Christmas carol.

A festive tree, dinner and traditional Christmas sweets were decorated the Pontian Leschi hall in Upper Darby. The catering services were again donated by Effie’s Catering Services. Following the reading of the minutes, the Independence Day parade and the upcoming fundraiser dance took center stage.

The dance is scheduled for January 13th, 2018 and was the focus of the meeting. All funds from the dance will be used to pay for the parade for the upcoming year.

The Federation also announced that it would recognize March as Greek Heritage month. It will be promoting Greek culture all month long with a series of features on their website and social media page.

The next meeting is scheduled to take place at the Ikarian House in Pennsauken New Jersey in January. The annual tradition that takes place at the beginning of the year will also be part of the Vasilopita cutting. All members organizations, churches, and foundations are encouraged to attend the final meeting before the big dance.
