Cherry Hill, NJ – Icarians from around the country came out to share in 75th anniversary of the Pan Icarian Brotherhood “Atheras chapter’s jubilee event. The annual dance was hosted at the Danielle Kousoulis Center at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox church and featured NIkos Facaros from Greece on violin.
More than 750 people attended the evenings. President Stathis Karandonis of the Hellenic Federation of Societies of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley addressed the crowd as members from churches and organizations all joined hands for a group photo and cake cutting.
The Pan-Icarian brotherhood “Atheras” has roots in the area which are more than a hundred years old and even have a community clubhouse where the Greek-American community annually brings in the New Year with a Vasilopita cutting. Chapter representative, George Horiatis was the host MC of the evening. Horiatis remarked, “tonight we are all one big family of Greeks, from all parts of the Hellenic world and our celebration is to be shared”.
