PGBL

Thursday evening featured three PGBL match ups that support the idea that this is a very competitive league. In round one, last years champs the Sixers, had a tough time in the first half with the ever improving Spartans. They eventually pulled away in the second half improving their record to 1-1. In game two, Danny’s boys who are in first place, had to hold off a very determined defensive effort by the Warriors who fell to 0-2. Game three featured Rip City with it’s aggressive offense. They made a late run in the second half before falling to the Kings in the final minutes. The Kings were one of last years contenders and have one of the best defenses in the league this year.

The weekly match ups have featured great athleticism and keep you teetering back and forth, all the while guessing who will pull out the victory. It’s evident when you look along the sidelines. Fans are constantly chomping down on a slice of Spanakopita, while keeping their eyes glued on the players. If you’re in the neighborhood of St. Demetrios, it’s the perfect place to grab a bite and be entertained with great basketball.
