Broomall, PA – Loud, proud and colorful, the Pontian Akritai society of Philadelphia make a statement every time the holidays roll in. In traditional folk attire they visit homes and business all around the Delaware Valley and bring with them good cheer.
With Lyra player Christos Tiktapanidis of New York leading them, some 20 members of the dance group come to your door and sing. After dropping in a donation to the magic box, they may even dance. Smiling and full of good humor, they are a warm site for those lovers of traditional Pontian Kalanda.
