Vineland, NJ – The Hellenic Community held their March 25th Celebration at the Vineland City Hall, on Saturday, April 9th. The event began with an opening prayer by Fr. Apostolos Panos, proistamenos of St. Anthony, followed by the National Anthems of Greece and the U.S.A.

The flags were raised by Mr. Theodoros Gasis – who served in the U.S. Navy, and Mr. Ioannis Lazarou – who served in the Greek Army. A Proclamation was made and presented by the Honorable Mayor of Vineland, Mr. Ruben Bermudez, and some welcome remarks were also made by City Council-person Angela Calakos.

Mr. Kyriakos Frangakis was the keynote speaker and shared the importance of his Hellenic origins and Orthodox Christian faith, which helped to formulate his life as an educator and citizen today. The Greek School put on a program with poems and dancing, along with an accounting of the historical events in Greek, by Mrs. Spiridoula Gerakios – Director of the Greek School. A light reception followed. Many thanks to Mr. Doug Albrecht – Parish Council Treasurer, and Chairman for this event. The Blue & White shined brightly in Vineland this past Saturday. ZITO I HELLAS!!!
