The message was “giving”. At St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox church, the GOYA under the direction of John Pogas appears to have this idea implemented into the it’s youth. Every month, the GOYA come together to prepare a meal for those less fortunate. A lesson that appears to be taking root in the Greek community, but none more evident than the GOYA of St. Sophia, where this tradition continues to grow every month.

On this occasion a Chicken caserole prepared by the St. Sophia GOYA, fed some 50 people where it was delivered the next day at a soup kitchen called (MANNA) on Main Street in Lansdale Pa.

Each month the GOYA come together to share their faith and experience a variety of activities. The focus of their social affairs are how to be good stewards and give back to their parish and community.
