Voorhees, NJ – Last night the Nafpaktian Society hosted a Tsiknopempti Glendi at the Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees, NJ. Over 250 guests turned out to enjoy an evening filled with roasted meats and drinks accompanied by live music by the Manioudakis Band.

Tsiknopempti (Greek: Τσικνοπέμπτη), literally Smelly Thursday, or even Charred, Smoky, or Barbeque Thursday “because of the smell of the grilled meat in the air”,[1] is part of the traditional celebrations for Carnival (in Greek: Αποκριά) season in Greece and Cyprus.

If you missed out on this event, don’t worry, the Nafpaktian Society has many more events coming up. Join the next meeting on March 9th at 7:30 at Kaminski’s in Cherry Hill, NJ. For more updates, visit nafpaktiansociety.com and the Nafpaktian Society on Facebook.
