Cherry Hill, NJ – The oldest Greek American organization in Philadelphia hosted it’s annual dance this past Saturday night at Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church. The Venvendinon Society “Philopatria” has been part of the Greek American community of the metropolitan area for more than 110 years.

The annual event was kicked off by senior members of the community, joining together in front of the stage and singing the song “Horeveta paidia tou Velvendou”. The band Delta music from North Jersey provided the music and was accompanied by singer, Katerina Topazi.

The Spirit of Macedonia Dance Troupe performed traditional music from the region, which includes the historic village of Velvendo. Their performance was featured late in the evening which brought the crowed to their feet clapping along.
