Themis Adamantidis was born in Kaisariani, Athens. When he was 7 years old, his family move to Johannesburg, South Africa. He returned to Greece at age 13 where he continued his schooling before exploring singing at the age of 14. His musical influences as he grew up were the songs of Stelios Kazantzidis and Giannis Parios.
As a teenager he starting singing with Anna Chrisafi, Rena Eskenazi, and Spiros Kalfopoulos. They took him under their wing and treated him as their own child. Now at 58, he is an established laika singer. He has toured through Europe and Australia. His major breakthrough came when he appear on a TV show, “Na i Efkaria” (here’s the opportunity).
At the age of 21, he made an impression that landed him a contract with EMI records with his first major hit “Agapise me”. He has performed with Dimitris Mitropanos, Vicky Moscholiou, Stelios Kazantzidis, Stratos Dionisiou and Yorgos Zambetas to name a few.
