Philadelphia, PA – This past Saturday evening, attorney John Aivazoglou celebrated his 50th birthday party. Some 250 friends and family came out to share the moment with Aivazoglou at the Skybox Event Center. John Aivazoglou and his family have been lifetime members of St. George Greek Orthodox church in Media, where he has served on the board and worked on various philanthropic endeavors on behalf of the church and the Greek community.

Following cocktails, the evening was kicked off by daughter Rayna who shared her thoughts about her father. That was followed by a recorded video birthday greeting from Barcelona, Spain, where sister Nicole was doing her student abroad year.

Rayna then introduced the newly formed “Hellenic Hearts” foundation to guests with a short film presentation. The newly formed non-profit is being formed to support Hellenes in need across the Delaware Valley. It’s scheduled to launch in late April 2016.

Four board members, Nick Karalis, Tim Vlassopoulos, Kostas Mikropoulos and John Aivazoglou have taken positions and are working towards bringing awareness to Hellenic Hearts. Some 50 members have already joined the organization whose main office will be headquartered in the Delaware Valley.

Board members Nick Karalis and Kosta Mikropoulos addressed the crowed before dinner where a short roast about John Aivazoglou followed. They went on to share their thoughts about Hellenic Hearts and how they were happy to be part of the new foundation that John had formed.

The evening was followed by dinner and dancing. Aivazoglou also spoke later that evening and thanked everyone for coming out and sharing this special night with his family. In lieu of gifts, Aivazoglou asked for donations to be made out to Hellenic Hearts. Twenty-thousand dollars was raised at the birthday party that will go towards the non-profit. “We’re looking to raise one million dollars to start the new endowment”, said Aivazoglou.

“Our ultimate goal is to have a independent Hellenic Hearts organization in every major city across America. The Hellenic Hearts program is being formed to create a national safety net for Hellenes in need” said founder John Aivazoglou. “The program will have three additional key areas developed as outreach programs, including youth, women and the elderly”, added Aivazoglou.
