Elkins Park, PA – Parishioners and Philoptochos members placed red and white carnations on the church epitafio today. Final preparations were being made for the Holy Friday services that also hosted a retreat for the youth of the church.
Some 20 children in several different age groups took off from school today in remembrance of the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The students participated by recreating hand made miniature epitafios and listening to a short historic lecture by Father Johns.
The Epitafios will be part of the liturgy services this evening that start at 7:00 pm. Some time between 8:00 and 8:30 the Epitafios will be carried out through the church and around the block by it’s parishioners.
